Chemistry: SciFinder

Tips

"Categorize" is a powerful way to analyze search results by substances and by index terms.

CAS Registry Numbers make great keyword search terms.

Look at how SciFinder breaks your search into concepts ... it affects how your search is run.

Use prepositions in keyword searches whenever possible

What is Scifinder-n?

SciFindern is the most important database for chemistry, It covers articles, patents, book chapters, conference proceedings, and dissertations that have been indexed by Chemical Abstracts Service from 1907 to the present. Search by keyword, structure, reaction, chemical name or CAS Registry Number. First time users must create a user name and password.

Access is restricted to Auburn University faculty, staff and students. Unlike most of our other databases, users must create an account and log in for each use.
