Library Instruction

In keeping with the mission of First Year Seminar (FYS) courses, Auburn University Libraries offers three classes to help students in UNIV designated courses.

The three options are an exploration/orientation of the RBD library, a web evaluation class, and a plagiarism awareness session (see below).

To schedule a class, contact Nancy Noe or complete the online request form no less than two weeks prior to the requested date.

The instructor of record is expected to attend with their class.

Option 1: RBD Library Exploration/Orientation - Preferred activity for Fall Semester

Learning Outcome

Students will explore various service points within RBD library and use artifacts to create a visual narrative/powerpoint presentation which reflects their understanding and use of those service points.

Length of Time Needed:

50-75 minutes (entire class period)

Students are divided into teams and each team explores one of the library's service points. After the teams have had time to explore, the teams meet in a library instruction lab and present their findings to the class.
