Class Goals

Class III

In this class we will:

1.) Learn the MLA International Bibliography

2.) Learn Sociological Abstracts

We will demonstrate that we have acheived our goals by:

1. Finding articles relevant to our research in MLA

2. Finding articles relevant to our research in Sociological Abstracts

3. Comparing the results we have found for both points of agreement and disagreement

Class II

In this class we will:

1. Learn how to use the Medline index.

2. Learn how to use the Opposing Viewpoints Index.

We will demonstrate that we have acheived our goals by:

1. Finding relevant articles in Medline.

2. Finding arguments in support of my position in Opposing Viewpoints.

Class I

In this class we will:

1. Learn how to search the Academic Search Premier Index.

2. Learn how to search the Library Catalog.

2. Learn how to construct searches using truncation(*) and Boolean Operators like AND, OR, NOT.

 

We will demonstrate that we have acheived our goals by:

1. Retrieving articles relevant to the assignment.

2. Incorporating these articles in the assigned paper with proper citation.
