Library Support for ENGL 1120

This guide details the avenues for implementing library support for ENGL 1120, 1123 and 1127 courses.

Welcome

Library Support for ENGL Composition II

Effective January 2018, library support for ENGL 1120, 1123, and 1127 is online.  Here you will find instructional resources to help your students with selecting a topic, using library databases effectively, and evaluating sources.

Beginning in 2018, seniors will take a SCORE test in order to assess the University’s Information Literacy Student Learning Outcome (SLO A). Students are introduced to information literacy at Auburn in their first-year composition courses. We hope that the resources in this guide will help students become information literate. There are a variety of avenues for library support, including:

  • Add library learning modules to your Canvas course
  • Link to the ENGL 1120 Research Guide for students
  • Utilize the Information Literacy Learning Activities in your courses
  • Encourage your students to visit the RBD Library Help Desk (2nd floor) for in-person research consultations or to chat/text/email their research questions at Ask A Librarian

The other tabs in this guide explain each avenue of support in more detail and provide additional resources. For assistance, contact AU Libraries Instruction Coordinator, Toni Carter or the Instruction Librarian, Delaney Bullinger.
