LaTeX is a document preparation system based on TeX, a typesetting system created by Donald Knuth, an American computer scientist and mathematician. Originally used for mathematical documents, LaTeX is now used in a wide variety of disciplines.

With LaTeX, you focus on the content of your document and LaTeX handles the formatting. It's very easy to create professional-looking material. This guide is designed for those with very little previous knowledge of LaTeX.
