BIOL 4950 - Marine/Organismal Biology: Annotated Bibliographies

What is it?

An annotated bibliography is a list of sources accompanied by a brief (3-7 sentence) summary of each.  Summaries should be written in paragraph form and explain how each article relates to your given topic.  It is important to note that summaries should be in your own words in order to avoid plagiarism.

Formatting

Bibliographies should be arranged in alphabetical order and written in the style of the journal Marine Ecology Progress Series.  Below are a few examples of article citations:

Gosnell JS, Gaines SD (2012) Keystone intimidators in the intertidal: non-consumptive effects of a keystone sea star
regulate feeding and growth in whelks. Mar Ecol Prog Ser 450: 107−114

Menge BA, Hacker SD, Freidenburg T, Lubchenco J and others (2011) Potential impact of climate-related changes is buffered by differential responses to recruitment and interactions. Ecol Monogr 81: 493−509

Sanford E (1999) Regulation of keystone predation by small changes in ocean temperature. Science 283: 2095−2097
