Laptop Checkout: FAQs

A: Auburn University Libraries offer MacBook and Dell laptops for short-term checkout.

Q: How can I request a laptop for checkout? 
A: Using the laptop checkout request form, you can request a laptop.

Q: How many laptops are available for checkout? 
A: The availability of laptops can be checked at any time on the Auburn University Libraries catalog.

Q: How long can I check out a laptop for? 
A: Laptops can be checked out for 3 weeks on a first-come, first-served basis.

Q: Why can't I check out the laptop for the semester?
A: Due to limited resources and a student body of approximately 34,145, including undergraduate and graduate students attending Auburn University, this policy ensures all patrons have fair access to the available laptops.

Q: Can I renew my laptop checkout? 
A: Yes, you can request one (1) renewal for an additional 3 weeks. After returning the laptop, you must wait 1 week before submitting another request. Renewal requests can be submitted at https://aub.ie/laptoprenew
