FDM Printersis an FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D Printer that uses thermoplastics to lay a bead of hot plastic to a build-plate in a layer-by-layer manner until a 3D model is completed. The thermoplastics come on spools and are referred to as filament. There are many different filaments that have different physical properties for many working parts and prototypes. We have 3 Luzbot Taz Pros for FDM printing.
Another FDM Printer in our Makerspace is the award winning MK3S+ by Prusa. These printers excel at detail work and easy to remove supports, despite their slightly smaller (25x25x21cm) build plate size compared to the Lulzbot printers.
