Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D Printers

    FDM Printers

The LulzBot Taz Pro

is an FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D Printer that uses thermoplastics to lay a bead of hot plastic to a build-plate in a layer-by-layer manner until a 3D model is completed. The thermoplastics come on spools and are referred to as filament. There are many different filaments that have different physical properties for many working parts and prototypes. We have 3 Luzbot Taz Pros for FDM printing.

Prusa i3 MK3S+

Another FDM Printer in our Makerspace is the award winning MK3S+ by Prusa. These printers excel at detail work and easy to remove supports, despite their slightly smaller (25x25x21cm) build plate size compared to the Lulzbot printers.

Low Force Stereolithography (LFS)™ Printers Available

SLA & LFS Printers

FormLabs 3 (LFS) Low Force Stereolithography (LFS)™

FormLabs 3 is the predecessor to the 3B and has a large selection of resins for almost any purpose.

FormLabs 3B (LFS) Low Force Stereolithography (LFS)™

SLA 3D Printers use lasers and photosensitive resins to form 3D models. They are capable of tremendous detail. The FormLabs 3B is an SLA 3D Printer capable of printing bio-safe parts; parts that can be used in organic bodies for medical purposes.
