Welcome to the AU Libraries Remote Lab!
Remote Lab is a web-based service that provides 24/7 remote access to Windows computers from both Windows and macOS devices (excluding technical outages). These machines are equipped with the same software available in Auburn University Libraries’ computing labs, including:
- Innovation & Research Commons (I&RC)
- RBD Library 2nd Floor
- Library of Architecture, Design, and Construction (LADC)
A few tips before you start:
-
When accessing a machine, you will need to authenticate using your DUO Mobile account.
-
Allow popups if necessary for apps.lib.auburn.edu.
-
Allow the remote machine to see text and images copied to the clipboard. This will enable copy/paste between your local and the remote machine.
-
Maximize your browser window and use F11 to go full screen for a better view.
-
Use Box cloud storage to access and work with your files.
-
You can also drag and drop files from your local computer onto the remote window, and they will appear in a drive called Guacamole Filesystem.
Important Information!
-
Remote machines are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the computer you previously used is occupied, you’ll need to select another one.
-
If you are inactive for 10 minutes, your session will lock, and you’ll need to log back in. After 4 hours of inactivity, you’ll be disconnected; you then have four additional hours to reconnect before being fully logged out, which will result in loss of any unsaved work.
-
Files saved on the remote machine remain available for 5 days and are then automatically deleted.
