Users are encouraged to suggest software to be added to the AU Libraries' computing environment. We follow a particular process when determining whether or not to honor requests that includes the following:
- The software should be determined as crucial to meet the teaching and learning needs of a particular class or discipline. Alternatively, can it be shown to benefit a wide range of students across multiple disciplines? In either case, we rely on written faculty justification.
- Review and approval are required by the AU Office of Technology prior to the acquisition or renewal of any software or information technology services to ensure they meet or exceed regulatory statutes and best practices.
- Cost is always a factor when making any determination about software purchases.
