BIOL 4950 - Organismal/Marine Biology Senior Seminar: Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan

If Auburn University Libraries does not have the article, book, or score you need (either in print or electronically), you may request it via InterLibrary Loan (ILL).

You'll need to register the first time you use Interlibrary loan. If you're a Distance Education student, be sure and put Distance Education in the Status box.

For articles, select Article/Book Chapter. For books and scores, select Book/Microform. Pro tip: Fill out the form as completely as you can. The more information you provide, the faster your item will arrive!

For books and scores, adding the OCLC number will ensure you receive the correct item. The OCLC number can be found on WorldCat

Here's an example of a completed ILL request for an article.

Articles/Book Chapters will arrive via email. Books/Microforms/Scores may be picked up at the library or, if you're a Distance Education student, can be mailed to you. However, you'll be responsible for mailing the items back to the library.

How long does ILL take?

  • Books/Scores—up to two weeks (but usually within a week)
  • Articles—up to two weeks (but can arrive in as little as two HOURS)
