You can find pictures of anything on the internet, right? Ever think about the people who created them? Most people like to be acknowledged for their work, or at least decide how it's used. Often they will apply some kind of license. Although the rules aren't always as strict for educational as they are for commercial purposes, but it's always good to give credit where credit is due. Creative Commons (CC) is a non-profit organization devoted to educational access and expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon legally and to share. Creative Commons licenses are free of charge to the public and allow authors of creative works to communicate which rights they reserve and which rights they waive for the benefit of recipients or other creators. Authors still maintain their copyright, but Creative Commons licenses give standard releases that replace the individual negotiations between copyright owner and usert.
