Organizing Sources with a Reference Manager

Reference managers (sometimes called citation managers) are software which can help you to organize sources for a paper or project. In general, most reference managers allow you to collect and organize sources and to create reference lists. Some also allow you to read pdfs online and make annotations or notes. Auburn University offers basic classes for three reference managers:

  • EndNote - librarian support provided by Jaena Alabi
  • Mendeley - librarian support provided by Ali Krzton
  • Zotero - librarian support provided by Kasia Leousis

Mendeley and Zotero offer free versions, EndNote is avaiable to AU students through AU Install.

The links below provide more information about each reference manager.
