The Wall Street Journal: Higher Education Program

Auburn University Libraries are excited to announce a new partnership with the Wall Street Journal through its Higher Education Program!

Courtesy of AU Libraries, all Auburn students, faculty, and staff can now enjoy unlimited digital access to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), including premium features typically available only to traditional subscribers.

You can either register for a new WSJ account or transfer your existing subscription to Auburn University at no additional cost.

WSJ Account Requirements

Before creating your WSJ account, please note the following requirements for using Auburn University's sponsored subscription:

  1. You must have a valid Auburn email address (username@auburn.edu) prior to registering for your personal account through Auburn University.
  2. You must either use an on-campus computer or connect to the University's VPN server (if off campus) to access the WSJ and create an account.

Sign Up Using Our School-Sponsored Subscription

Thanks to this partnership with the WSJ, all Auburn personnel and students can now register for a complimentary WSJ account using our school-sponsored subscription. Simply follow the guidelines below to set up your new account or transfer your current subscription to AU Libraries.


New SubscribersExample of AUthenticate Login Screen (You've never registered or subscribed before)

  • Sign into AUthenticate using your Auburn username and password.
  • AUthenicate will redirect to WSJ.com to setup your account.
  • Follow the on-screen directions to complete the "Create Account" form.
  • Select student, staff, or professor for your account type.
  • Remember to use your Auburn email address (username@auburn.edu) when registering.
  • You can now access the WSJ and your subscriber benefits by logging in directly at WSJ.com.

Note: If you access the WSJ through our Auburn-affiliated link listed above, you will be required to sign into AUthenticate even if you've already set up your WSJ account.

After registering for the WSJ, you can also customize your account through different personalization settings such as preferred news interests and newsletter subscriptions. See the Exclusive Content & Benefits page for more information on account settings and features.

If you have a personal WSJ account and wish to switch to Auburn University's school-sponsored subscription, please call 1-800-JOURNAL to cancel your current membership.

  • Please note that partial refunds may be available when you call to switch from a personal account to our school-sponsored subscription.

Once you deactivate your current subscription, visit https://wsj.com/Auburn to register for a new WSJ account with Auburn University.
