ORCID Profile Setup

Contained within this guide are directions for getting your ORCID publications to show up on a specific webpage

ORCID supports 37 types of works, including journal articles, artistic performances, intellectual property, and data sets. Directions for adding works are described below. If you have questions, or would like assistance from AU Libraries' Send Us Your CV program, please email pjh0011@auburn.edu.

Search & Link Wizard

Importing works from another system via Search & Link is a fast and accurate way to add works to your profile. ORCID has partnered with 11 databases and other registries to streamline the process. A few partners include ResearcherID, Scopus, MLA Bibliography, and Crossref, a registry of DOIs.

More information about using Search & Link can be found here.

Import from Google Scholar Profile

Google Scholar is another simple option. Just sign in to your account, select the works you want, and save them as a BibTeX file. Just remember to confirm they are all yours! Google Scholar sometimes inadvertently attributes works to the wrong author.

Import BibTeX Files

BibTeX is a tool and file format used to describe lists of references.  It is the format used by most citation management softwares such as Mendeley and Zotero.  Endnote bibliographies can also be formatted as BibTeX files.  These files can also be created and exported directly through databases such as Web of Science and Google Scholar.

More information about importing BibTeX files is available here.

Add Works Manually

If your works can't be imported through Search & Link or BibTeX files, you can still add them manually.  It takes a little longer, but is easy.  Just follow the prompts on the screen.
