Contained within this guide are directions for getting your ORCID publications to show up on a specific webpage

Make sure you fill the URL in both places

Editing the citation information does NOT change the format of the Title entered at the top of the form.

Notice that the case is different in the images.

I've edited the citation title to comply with APA; but because the Title at the top of the form the public view on ORCID will look like this:

While My Works on Libguides, because it draws from the citation in the entry form will look like this:

The Admin programing script is set up for BibTeX and APA. Other styles may require further coding.
  • Some clean-up of the citations on ORCID may need to be done in order for the citations to look correct on LibGuides.
  • Some citations, especially those harvested through a CrossRef integration, by ORCID can be problematic with this script.
  • Not all citation generators are created equal -- extra characters or other errors may creep in like in the examples below.

Example of a BibTeX citation with extra characters and unresolved code.

Errors also appear because the source of the citation has errors. The following images illustrate that one word in the title of the article is misspelled on Google Scholar and that error is picked up on the all the citation formats.

Multiculturism is misspelled in the title of Google Scholar record

Regardless of your citation style and preferred generator, you will want to be as consistent as possible in generating your citations. I've found Google Scholar the easiest place to obtain citations that work regardless of style. Notice that BibTeX is an option at the bottom of the Google Scholar generator. This is especially true for those that are in institutional repositories..
