Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services are the researcher’s link to materials not owned or subscribed to by AU Libraries. Interlibrary loan services are available for faculty, students, and staff. While ILL services across the country have been drastically curtailed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, library users can:
- Request items that can be delivered electronically (e.g., journal articles)
- Request the table of contents and/or index from a book. You can then select pages or a couple of chapters to be scanned and delivered to you electronically. Unfortunately, limited lending services at other institutions usually prevents our borrowing physical materials, including books.
- If an item is not available through ILL, your subject librarian is available to investigate other options with you.
- ILL requests can be made through your ILLiad account. After logging in, select "Article/Book Chapter" from the Main Menu options.
Interlibrary Loan staff are available to answer email and phone calls.
