Innovation & Research Commons

The Innovation & Research Commons (1st Floor, RBD Library) provides state-of-the-art technology and creative space for AU faculty, staff, and students.

*Please note that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, delivery of some components in this space has been delayed.  Contact I&RC staff to check on availability (irc@auburn.edu; 334-844-7398).

Computers & Software

Office of Information Technology (OIT) computers are located in RBD Library and the Veterinary Medicine Library.


AU Libraries Specialized Software

In addition to OIT machines, the Libraries provide computers loaded with specialized software, including Adobe Creative Cloud suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, SolidWorks, and more. 

Many of these machines are located in the Innovation & Research Commons (RBD Library, 1st Floor).

Printing & Scanning

For instructions on how to print to the Libraries' pre-paid or kiosk printers, follow the instructions on the TigerPrint website.

Remote Access to Software

Through the Remote Desktop Access Portal, you can access software at RBD Library and the Library of Architecture, Design and Construction (LADC).

Citation Managers

Library faculty offer workshops in three citation management systems: Zotero, Mendeley, and EndNote.

Adobe Creative Cloud

Library staff in the Innovation & Research Commons' Adobe Creative Space (RBD Library, 1st Floor) provide the following support for the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of software:

Auburn University students have access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite of design and multimedia applications. Visit  https://adobe.auburn.edu to request your free Adobe license (instructions). 


Overleaf

AU provides free Overleaf Professional accounts for all students, faculty and staff who would like to use a LaTeX editor for their projects. LaTeX is a software system designed for technical and scientific document preparation.  Library staff regularly offer LaTeX workshops:

Technology Lending

The Innovation & Research Commons (1st Floor) offers a technology lending service. Check out audio equipment, camera and video equipment, Arduino and Raspberry Pi kits, and more.
