INVENTORY
* Most Inventory management will happen during the summertime*
When we take inventory at the LADC, we are surveying our collections to ensure we have the items we claim to have. The number of items to be inventoried and the number of people working during the inventory process determines the number of pages prescribed to be completed each shift. It is a simple but tedious procedure that can be handled relatively quickly, given the joint effort of all here at the LADC.
To take inventory...
-
Use the Arch-Inventory printouts to check if the books are on the shelf.
-
If they are, make a check mark (or mark an "X") beside the entry.
-
If the book is not on the shelf, mark an "O" beside the entry.
If you are still looking for the book on the shelf...
-
Check the online catalog to see if the book is currently charged. If it is, mark an "X" through the "O" and write "checked out."
-
If anything else doesn't match up, or if you find a book not on the list, write a brief note to Robert or Amy to let us know, and we will look into it.
-
When you complete a page, please initial at the bottom.
