RUN! Escape if it safe to do so.
- Know where all the fire exits are since you likely will not be able to exit out the main doors.
- First and Second floor fire exits are all on the south side of the building. B6 has three fire exits
HIDE! If escape is not an option!
- Turn off all lights, barricade doors, silence all phone rings and vibrations!
- Know where solid barriers are which you can hide behind or under!
(Upstairs by the furthest fire exit from the stairs or downstairs in B6).
FIGHT as a last resort.
- Grab anything you can to use as a weapon
- Settle on a single plan,
- Assign roles to people, (someone to call 911, where to hide to ambush the attacker, how many people go for the weapon.)

DO NOT FIGHT FAIR WHEN YOUR LIFE IS IN DANGER!

AIM FOR THEIR HEAD WITH YOUR WEAPON AND GO AFTER THEIR ARM HOLDING THEIR WEAPON TO CONTROL IT AND/OR TAKE IT AWAY!

CALL 911 AS SOON AS IT IS RELATIVELY SAFE TO DO SO. -

The best way to avoid freezing in a danger situation is to BE PREPARED. Ask your supervisor what your building's gameplan is in the event of an active-shooter situation!

All bomb threats and suspicious packages should be treated as REAL.

In many emergency situations, evacuation of a building, part of campus or all of campus may be necessary.
A building fire alarm indicates a need to evacuate the building (should be used for fire or smoke-related emergency only).
Notification to evacuate all or a significant area of campus will come through the AU ALERT System.
Pay close attention to emergency notification messages. Follow instructions provided by the messages and first responders.

If you see or are alerted to smoke or fire in the building: DIAL 911

Request that the Auburn dispatcher send assistance from the fire department.
If the fire is trash-can size or smaller and you are trained you may attempt to extinguish the fire.

If not:
- EVACUATE THE BUILDING: Direct all patrons and employees to the exit;
- Pull the fire alarm pull station as you exit.
- If smoke is present, stay low
- Always use stairs to exit upper floors
-After the building has been evacuated MEET OUTSIDE IN THE DESIGNATED AREA AND DO A HEADCOUNT OF AT LEAST THE EMPLOYES ON DUTY.
- Wait outside until it is safe to re-enter.

Workplace harassment involves unwelcome and offensive conduct that is based on race, color, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), religion, disability, age (age 40 or older), or genetic information. Examples of harassment include offensive or derogatory jokes, racial or ethnic slurs, pressure for dates or sexual favors, unwelcome comments about a person's religion or religious garments, or offensive graffiti, cartoons or pictures.

The office of AA/EEO & Title IX office utilizes the following policies to address the Prohibited Conduct (Discrimination, Harassment, Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Sexual Exploitation, Dating/Domestic Violence, Intimate Partner Violence, Stalking, Complicity, and Retaliation).

Never attempt to contain or clean up hazardous materials unless trained to do so.

If you see or are alerted to a person who is injured, impaired, or has a medical issue:

DIAL 911

Request that the Auburn dispatcher send medical assistance.
- Send someone to meet the emergency responders at the street.
- Provide first aid and/or CPR if you are trained to do so.
- Do not move the person unless their life will be in danger if they are not moved
- Stay or have someone stay with the injured or ill person until assistance arrives.

You are responsible for monitoring weather conditions and taking appropriate actions. For weather-related emergencies, the AU ALERT System will only be used in the event of a tornado warning or other serious weather emergency impacting campus.

Auburn University is strongly committed to providing an environment free of all types of violence, including sexual violence.

A shelter or secure in place order may be issued for several reasons:

Severe weather;
- Hazardous materials (especially a significant incident outside of the building);
- Intruder on campus;
- Hostage situation;
- Any situation where it is best for you to stay where you are to avoid an outside threat.

The reason for the shelter or secure in place order may not be immediately communicated to everyone. If a shelter or secure in place order is issued: BE ALERT, STAY CALM, WAIT FOR THE ALL CLEAR

Be alert for instructions and updates as they become available from emergency personnel and university administrators.
Try to stay calm.
Go to the place designated in the notification (i.e. severe weather shelter area, upper floors or other location within the building).
Stay away from windows, doors and outside walls.

If you see something, say something!

The Auburn University Threat Assessment Team is available to advise and make recommendations on incidents involving members of the university community that pose, or may reasonably pose, a threat to the safety and well being of themselves or others. This includes behavior that may be disruptive, threatening or concerning.

It is important to emphasize that reports to the Threat Assessment Team not be made anonymously because of the limitations to investigating without complete information. Please include, at a minimum, your name, phone number and email address when reporting a concern.
